Whangarei menswear experts Tim and Robyn Green are passionate about getting the right fit.

“There’s nothing worse than seeing someone wear something that doesn’t suit them for the sake of fashion.”

Robyn and Tim, dress men of all ages in their Rust Ave store- Whangarei Menswear and Suit Hire.

Having bought the business in 2016, the duo are now in the process of shutting down their Orewa branch to focus all their energy into the Northland business.

Tim has worked in menswear since he was a teenager, working alongside his father to carry on the family legacy. Tim’s father purchased the Orewa Menswear store, which has been in in the family for more than 40 years.

Robyn has always worked on the company books, however since moving to Whangarei she has got more into the selling and fitting side of things.

“I find that I really enjoy it,” she says. “You meet all kinds of people and they always come out looking a million dollars.”

One of the most important things in men’s fashion is to get a good fitting shirt.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re going to wear it with jeans or dress pants,” she says. “If it doesn’t fit right, it won’t feel right.”

The shoulder seams need to sit at the shoulders for the best look.

“If it’s too big or too small it won’t look right.”

Whangarei Menswear and Suit Hire specialise in selling dress jeans, trousers, upmarket polos, casual and dress shirts as well as a small range of quality suits. They also offer suit hire for all occasions.
