Christmas in a Shoebox: A picture says a thousand words

Hundreds of shoeboxes filled with presents will be distributed to Northland families in need this Christmas.

The Christmas in a Shoebox project was spearheaded by Whangarei mother-of-three Rangimarie Mako.

With an original goal to fill 100 boxes, Ms Mako has well exceeded her goal and the current total sits at nearly 900 boxes across Northland wide.

“I think the saying goes “A picture says a thousand words?”

Thank you to EVERYONE who has donated these boxes and gifts and all the boxes and gifts… words do not express our gratitude enough but hopefully our actions in delivering to homes of our children who are in need of a gift for Christmas will suffice.”
